ADVENTure Day 1
“All” is a very important word when you are following Jesus.
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are put right with him freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3.23-24
The grace of Jesus is needed by all and is given freely for all.
As we are on mission with Jesus, we are learning something elses too: That being for all, also means being with all: When we serve, as a Christian, in the community, sometimes we might be tempted to fancy ourselves as a strong, good person doling out largess to less fortunate mortals… but God doesn’t see his children like that. He calls us all to serve with and alongside each other. This doesn’t mean we will all be doing exactly the same thing of course, but each one of us is made by God and has a unique part to play. This is what we mean by the Lightwave practice “All Involved”.
It is a precious thing to serve as part of God’s family and for many of us it is an important part in the journey in which we discover that we too belong to Jesus: One of our leaders has a saying “You know you are part of the family when you’re allowed to put out the bins”.
Dear Lord Jesus
Thank you for the joy of knowing you and serving you
Help me to receive love as well as giving it
Help me to give others opportunities to serve, as well as serving you myself
That we all may share in this joy together.
Amen
