What are you creating?
God is our creator. We are made in His image and all our creativity comes from Him
One of the features of God’s creation – was that he created not, just individuals but community
“The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2.18
We were made to thrive in community – We were also made to create community.
Creating Community is one of the key values of Lightwave. This is not the cosiness of an inward-looking clique. Instead, we are called to be pro-community in an individualistic society. We work at combatting isolation because life in community brings a taste of God’s Kingdom. Intentionally creating community looks like many simple things: It may be creating a whats-app group for a prayer group to share more of their lives. It may be visiting all the people moving in to an area of new housing and inviting them to connect at a newcomers supper. It might mean supporting a coffee morning or a group for parents and toddlers.
Lesslie Nebiggin wrote of Christian community as the “hermeneutic of the gospel”. We have learned the truth of this – Love for each other and wider neighbours is what convinces people in a materialistic society that the love of God is real and for them
Creative God, Help us to create community today, in the way we listen and act and care. Amen
