Congratulations to Rev Edward Land, licensed on Sunday 1 May, as Associate Minister at the Lightwave Rural Hub in Bungay. It was a day of joyful celebration in Bungay.
Rev Josh Bailey writes-
"We were delighted to welcome Edward & Heather Land (photo below), from Sunday 1st May, as the Associate Minister for the Hub and Lightwave Community Choir Director (part-time) respectively. Edward & Heather have made a fantastic start and hy are getting to know the community and the life of the Bungay hub as part of discerning needs and opportunities to bring people together in new ways of being church. "
Edward & Josh also saw the Spirit at work following a welcome buffet lunch at the Bungay Community Centre. Both are keen skateboarders, so had arranged to head over to the adjacent skate park after the meal was done. As they skated, a group of 8-10 young people started asking questions about Jesus - prompted by the sight of two vicars skating together. We are sketching plans for a skate Lightwave Group for young people, as all those we spoke with seemed very enthusiastic - about Jesus as well as scootering / skateboarding.
