Graham Miles, Rural Agricultural Chaplain writes;

We have been attending Agricultural Shows over the last couple of months, starting with the South Suffolk Show, then Hadleigh Show and the Suffolk County Show. I would like to thank the rest of the Rural Chaplaincy team; Diane, Granville and Linda for all their hard work at the Suffolk Show, reaching out in many ways. I have been kept busy visiting rural parishes around Suffolk. Also l have been invited to many events as guest speaker talking on the work we are doing, giving support to our rural and farming communities. I am still receiving phone calls coming in about depression, anxiety, loneliness and suicidal thoughts. My phone is available 24/7, which is so important if someone needs to talk.

We are building new relationships with agricultural companies supporting the work of Lightwave Rural Agricultural Ministry. William Hargreaves, Suffolk Rural Director for Savills department in Ipswich, produced a double sided leaflet supporting our work for Savills. Ernest Doe Power of Sudbury, Branch manager Simon Cowell is also supporting our work.

Bishop Martin spent a day with me visiting 3 farmers across Suffolk, hearing first hand the problems farmers are facing at the moment.

Diane and Granville are supporting farmers in their Benefice around Mendham. Also l would like to thank Edward and Penny Creasy.  Edward was High Sheriff for Suffolk and held a lunch for 6 farmers that I invited, so he could hear some of the problems farmers are facing. I am looking forward to building a team up who come from a rural and farming background to help give support.
